The congregation is divided into nine Shepherding Groups created to strengthen relationships and offer support to one another and to ministries both in and outside St Peder’s. On the second Sunday of January, Shepherding Group Sunday, we have one worship service and, after coffee and fellowship, each group meets to make plans for the coming year. Shepherding Groups take turns serving coffee on Sunday mornings throughout the year – and also pair-up to prepare and serve one Soup Supper during Lent. Shepherding Groups are also encouraged to host a service project or event during the year – and simply gather together to get to know each other, as well as care for one another in times of need.

Several times during the year, there is a potluck luncheon on a Friday noon for any retired members and friends of St Peder’s. We currently don’t meet in the summer months – or in December or March. In November, we meet the Friday before Thanksgiving for a feast: turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy are provided – and everyone brings the rest of the delicious offerings! Some months there is a program presented after the meal, but often we simply enjoy one another’s company with conversation around the table.
Do you knit or crochet? Make felted creations? Weave or spin? If you do – or would like to learn – this is a group for you! Meeting generally the first and third Saturdays of the month from 2:00 – 4:00, Fiber Arts welcomes all who have an interest in working on individual projects while spending time with folks who enjoy doing the same. Whether you’re a beginner or a master of the art of working with fibers, you are invited to participate. Special classes are offered from time to time.
St Peder’s quilters meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. You don’t need to be an expert seamstress or quilter to share in this on-going ministry to serve the needs of our neighbor… all are welcome!
