Rev. Julie Ebbesen, Pastor, came to St Peder’s in August, 2005, as Interim Pastor and was called by the congregation to serve as Pastor in October, 2006. A 1986 graduate of Luther Seminary, St Paul, Pastor Ebbesen also served at First Lutheran, Minot, North Dakota; Zion, Prairie Village, KS; and Faith, Waconia, MN. From 1991-1995, she served on the ELCA Board for Congregational Ministries, and was a member of the task force that created The Use of the Means of Grace – the ELCA document on sacramental practices that was adopted in 1997. She has also been President of the Luther Seminary Alumni/ae Association and has had various leadership roles in the Central States Synod and the Minneapolis Area Synod throughout her ministry. She loves living in south Minneapolis. Her favorite avocation is being an auntie and exclaims…“It’s the best job in the world!”
Shannon T.L. Kearns, Director of Faith Formation and Outreach, joined St. Peder’s in May 2015. He holds a BS in Youth Ministry from Grace College and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York. He is passionate about faith formation and discipleship and brings years of experience in several different traditions to his work. He also gets excited about outreach and widening the church welcome. He is an avid reader, a baseball fan (rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies), and loves cheesy television. In his spare time he is the founder of Uprising Theatre Company, a company that aims to bring together storytelling with social justice action. Their motto is: Stories to change the world.
Jeannie Farrell, Office Coordinator, joined St. Peder’s in April of 2018. She lives in the West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul with her partner Sean and two girls, Beatrice and Coral, who are 8 and 4. Recently they added Martin, a seven month old rescue puppy, who has captured their hearts. Jeannie loves to garden and be outdoors. When she is not getting her hands dirty, she enjoys reading and spending time with her clan. She also gets a kick out of experimenting in the kitchen. Her most recent culinary adventure has been making kombucha. For the past few years she have been a stay at home mom and prior to that worked with seniors and volunteers in the non-profit sector and also taught a senior exercise class.
Debbie Wolking, Accounts Manager, has been at St. Peder’s since the spring of 2013. She has a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota, and returned to the Carlson School of Management in 2012 to study Accounting. She has worked at neighborhood-based nonprofits in the Longfellow, Seward and Cedar Riverside neighborhoods for over 30 years. She enjoys doing accounting work to support the leadership of St. Peder’s and all of the members to make decisions based on accurate and timely financial information. In her free time she enjoys gardening, bike riding, knitting, reading and spending time with her three beautiful granddaughters.
