Rev. Bryan Odeen, Pastor, Rev. Bryan Odeen, grew up in Loyal, Wisconsin. He went to Wartburg College in Waverly, IA following high school and studied music therapy. While at Wartburg, he met Lisamarie Nielsen, fell hopelessly in love, and they have been married since 2008. After a short time in Asheville, NC, he worked a few years with Iowa Hospice as a music therapist before feeling a call to ordained ministry. He went to Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA and graduated in 2018. He completed a majority of his classes online, which gave him the opportunity to work at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, IA, St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City, IA while completing his seminary courses. His internship was completed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Warren, IL. Since graduating seminary, he has served as Associate Pastor at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage, IA. He enjoys running, bike riding, songwriting, reading, and spending time reading aloud (usually Harry Potter) with his family. He has three children – Maren, Hattie, and Anders – and each bring him joy with their love, talents, and interests
Mia Kruse, Organist and Music Ministry Coordinator, recently moved here from Huron, South Dakota, where she worked as the Director of Orchestras for the Huron Public Schools. As the orchestra director, she taught beginning 4th grade strings as well as high school orchestra. Mia has spent over 15 years serving as a music director, choir director, organist, and leader of children’s music ministry in various churches throughout South Dakota and Michigan. She grew up in rural Minnesota and received a Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College, Moorhead in piano performance. Over the past twenty years she has led a busy life as a private piano and vocal teacher, freelance performer, church musician, and mother of four.
Jeannie Farrell, Office Coordinator, joined St. Peder’s in April of 2018. She lives in the West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul with her husband Sean, two girls and a dog named Martin. Jeannie loves to garden and be outdoors. When she is not getting her hands dirty, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends. For the past few years she have been a stay at home mom and prior to that worked with seniors and volunteers in the non-profit sector and also taught a senior exercise class.
Debbie Wolking, Accounts Manager, has been at St. Peder’s since the spring of 2013. She has a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota, and returned to the Carlson School of Management in 2012 to study Accounting. She has worked at neighborhood-based nonprofits in the Longfellow, Seward and Cedar Riverside neighborhoods for over 30 years. She enjoys doing accounting work to support the leadership of St. Peder’s and all of the members to make decisions based on accurate and timely financial information. In her free time she enjoys gardening, bike riding, knitting, reading and spending time with her three beautiful granddaughters.
