Rev. Julie Ebbesen, Pastor, came to St Peder’s in August, 2005, as Interim Pastor and was called by the congregation to serve as Pastor in October, 2006. A 1986 graduate of Luther Seminary, St Paul, Pastor Ebbesen also served at First Lutheran, Minot, North Dakota; Zion, Prairie Village, KS; and Faith, Waconia, MN. From 1991-1995, she served on the ELCA Board for Congregational Ministries, and was a member of the task force that created The Use of the Means of Grace – the ELCA document on sacramental practices that was adopted in 1997. She has also been President of the Luther Seminary Alumni/ae Association and has had various leadership roles in the Central States Synod and the Minneapolis Area Synod throughout her ministry. She loves living in south Minneapolis. Her favorite avocation is being an auntie and exclaims…“It’s the best job in the world!”

Shannon T.L. Kearns, Director of Faith Formation and Outreach, joined St. Peder’s in May 2015. He holds a BS in Youth Ministry from Grace College and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York. He is passionate about faith formation and discipleship and brings years of experience in several different traditions to his work. He also gets excited about outreach and widening the church welcome. He is an avid reader, a baseball fan (rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies), and loves cheesy television. In his spare time he is the founder of Uprising Theatre Company, a company that aims to bring together storytelling with social justice action. Their motto is: Stories to change the world.

Terrance Olson, Organist/Choir Director, joined St. Peder’s in October, 2017.  He has held music positions at Lutheran, Methodist and Baptist churches and studied with fine teachers at Lawrence University, Conservatory and Eastman School of Music.  His motivation is telling stories through music to enhance each worship service.

Shawna Nelsen, Office Coordinator (Interim), enjoys contributing to the community at St. Peder’s through her communications and administrative work and assisting volunteers and congregants. A member of St. Peder’s and Vice President of the Church Council, she stepped in to help fill the vital roles of this position in December 2017. She is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, IL with a double major in Political Science and English and holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Boston University. She has spent the majority of her career in nonprofit communications and fundraising–addressing such issues as gender equality, affordable housing, early childhood education, and hunger. She also enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, traveling, and most importantly, being a Mom to four fabulous kids.
